I always wanted to start my first book with “TERRY”, in all capital letters, as the first word. Maybe best I just use the name to start my blog. Anyone familiar with the Discworld series knows, why it has to be spelled this way.

The way Terry Pratchett saw the world, and humankind, as much as was evident from his writing, just keeps inspiring me on a daily basis. He seemed to have hope for us poor wretches, yet saw the twisted irony of life. My favorite book Good Omens was a collaboration between Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Now a popular tv mini-series, the story is full of that spark Terry had, which we should all hold dear.

I drew this picture kind of for me, and on the other hand to participate in a drawing prompt club by Lucy Cahill, Lucyteardrop on Instagram. The first prompt said to draw a person, who inspires you. I am not sure, if I will do the whole series of prompts, but this definitely helped me get out of my shell a little. I am reticent about posting my art, as I am not very practiced at it. I always loved art, but lack of focus, and later on, lack of energy, has been keeping me from proper training.

Like many artists before me, I based my drawing on the photograph of Terry Prachett on Wikimedia by Szymon Sokół, and hence, the creative licence is same as his (Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license).

If you would like to keep up with what happens with the blog, or wish to read my random musings, use the social media links to follow me. Let me know, what you think of this first post, and my drawing? Have you read books by Terry Pratchett, and if so, which are your favorites?

Thanks for reading.
