Poetry – Book Titles Game
I loved this post by Kit: “Bookish musings: I made pretentious poems out of book titles“, and wanted to try the idea myself. I just started my blog, again, and do not have my own reviews, so I asked to use the same ones. Let’s see, if we have similar instincts. I collected the book names first and came back to the post to write my poems, later, so that I would not have a fresh memory of what Kit did.
Mine are all Tanka (57577 syllables).
First set:
– Beckoning Blood by Daniel de Lorne
– Caged by Bey Deckard
– Chase the Dark by Annette Marie
– Detox in Letters by Cheryl Low
– Obscura Burning by Suzanne van Rooyen
– Real Vampires Take No Prisoners by Amy Fecteau
– The Heartless City by Andrea Berthot
– Withered + Sere by TJ Klune
My poem:
Dark, heartless city,
Vampires; the prisoners,
sere, no; withered,
chase the burning obscura,
caged by no real beckoning.
(As Kit mentions, sere is an adjective meaning dry).

– Oak King Holly King // Tales from Blackthorn Briar by Sebastian Nothwell
– The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang
– A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Fox Meadows
– A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland
My poem:
Stubborn sprite born wilde,
Iron king of endurance,
Taste the blooded bone.

Strange tales from the gold city.
