John Green and TBfighters fight for equitable access to tuberculosis testing and treatment

John Green bought shares to affect change in a medical company. He uses his status as a share holder to call for the company to lower test prices in impoverished communities. These tests are needed to help people with tuberculosis, AIDS, etc. He figures, if these companies only look to benefit shareholders, why not use that to create change. If I were looking to be famous, this would be way to do it. Use it for good.

John and his brother Hank have been “Youtube famous” for most of their adult years. I watched Vlogbrothers regularly for quite some time. They are still doing their videos, and now have enough money to really contribute to positive change in society. John is a famous author, and Hank is a science educator. They give their audience a chance to help with good causes. You can help ask the company to lower their prices, too, by signing this petition. Let’s also “join the community fighting for equitable access to tuberculosis testing and treatment: tbfighters.org“.

This counts as one of those good news moments we desperately need, as we spend a lot of time online, reading on how the world is on fire.
